BLACK IS BETTER

Friday, August 21, 2015

Black on Black is one of our all time favorite ways to dress. The look is sleek, elegant and super easy to style -- so really, what's not to love right?  Even though rocking black can sometimes be stereotyped as boring and bland, we totally disagree and live for an all-black moment.  When wearing the dark sultry hue from head to toe, there are just a few things to keep in mind to make sure your all black ensemble is super chic and stylish.  Play around with textures and fabrics, making sure your fabrics are season appropriate.  We really enjoy styling with leather, mesh, lace and silk and always seem to work a few into our all black looks.  Make sure the fit is tailored and slimming to keep the look modern and flattering and add subtle accessories for a little bit of glam.
Dare to prove that black is far from boring. XO

BIG CITY BIG DREAMS

Tuesday, August 18, 2015

For as long as I can remember I have been a city girl -- in love with the tall buildings, great shopping and new restaurants popping up all the time.  Big city big dreams right? Recently, I began a new start up and secured my very own office space at the Atlanta Tech Village.  Aside from the amazing rooftop views, this place overflows with resources and opportunities for entrepreneurs chasing the dream.  For a modern day working girl shoot, I dipped up to the roof to capture the day in the life of a tech girl. Rocking this adorable custom-made skirt from Chai Design Studio, I kept my work look simple pairing with all black.  So keep it chic and remember to dream big!

GOLDEN LOCKS

Thursday, August 13, 2015

As a busy girl always on the run, I obsess over low maintenance hair care routines and natural light-weight products that won't weigh my hair down.  Whether I'm rocking my natural hair or extensions, I want my hair to look and feel silky and shiny but the health of my hair is most critical.  I've been on the hunt for a while now for a natural product line that would give both my hair and extensions a little pick me up.  Thanks to the Hennasi product line, I think I found my match!!  My two newest go-to products are their Thermal Protect Silk Smoothing Serum and Signature Silk Elixir of Oils.  I love that the serum is smooth, conditions and nourishes my hair all in one with no residue build-up.  It glides on easy and is great for daily frizz and humidity control -- something I'm currently battling in this Atlanta heat.  The Elixir of Oils is the ultimate in oil combinations, containing soybean, sweat almond, coconut, avocado, jojoba seed, safflower seed, wheat germ and sunflower oil.   The oil protects my hair from free radicals, heat damage and moisture loss.  I apply in the evening right before bed to work as a deep scalp treatment.

Excited to share this awesome line with you guys!!  Enjoy a 15% off discount

TRACES OF PINK x HALSTON HERITAGE

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

Halston Heritage is embracing the barely pink trend and we are simply loving it.  The subtle hue is so refreshing for either a day or night look.  With so many styling possibilities, light pink is our choice of color for those occasions when we want to stray away from black and white. Those of you who know us well, know we are the biggest advocates for simplicity, clean lines, solids and easy chic styling. In collaboration with Halston, we had the pleasure of providing a few tips for jazzing up their barely pink pieces in time for summer. So take a read and share your thoughts.  We'd love to hear from you.

Crepe Dress w/ Metal Plate

Cocktail dresses are timeless in fashion and will remain in style for years to come.  No matter your preference on length, color and texture, every cocktail dress deserves an elegant and sophisticated look, with a touch of personal style.  The barely pink Crepe Dress w/ Metal Plate is a classy approach to cocktail hour with the subtle hardware detailing adding a bit of richness.  Keep it simple with styling - accessories and shoes should look as dignified as the dress itself.  Consider a nude heel, hard gold clutch and thin necklace, while the dress remains the showstopper.

Silk Georgette Top

The summer heat is on! With rising temperatures, the easy breezy and comfy camisole is this season's favorite feminine top.  For a casual chic day, the Silk Georgette Top pairs great with a white skinny jean or distressed blue jean and a cool statement necklace.  The ensemble should look effortless, so less is more.  Wearing your cami for date night?  Throw on a fitted trouser and some stilettos.  Opt for no jewelry with this look for a barely there effect your date is sure to love.

Silk Maxi w/ Overlay

Maxi dresses are a wardrobe must-have and look great all year long.  Partnered with high slits, you've mastered being sexy without overdoing it -- plus who doesn't love showing a little skin.  The barely pink Silk Maxi w/ Overlay is the perfect selection for those casually cute days that don't require the fuss of separates.  Style with a strappy flat, chunky bangles, shades and an oversized bag for a hobo-chic look great for shopping with the girls.

Sequin Printed Cami

While sequins are fun and add a bit of dazzle to a look, pairing with complimentary colors can help add balance.  For trendy, less predictable styling, try wearing the Sequin Printed Cami with khaki.  These colors paired together makes any outfit more exciting and can be accomplished with little effort.  Wear a season-appropriate khaki trench and denim bottoms and see how the sequin really stands out under the jacket for a refreshing surprise.

Asymmetric Peplum Crepe Dress

Sometimes it's fun to push the envelope and try something a bit more unexpected.  With pink being so feminine, it helps to counter the softness with a stronger hue.  Pairing the Asymmetric Peplum Crepe Dress with a motto jacket takes your look from "girl next door" to "girl with a flare" -- all with just one single layer.  Wear over your shoulders for a less structured feel that makes going from edgy chic to simple sweet when you are ready to ditch the jacket.

Draped Back Knit Top

Wearing a single shade is boring right? Of course not! In fact, rocking a head to toe monochromatic look is a simpler and cleaner approach to putting an outfit together.  Style the Draped Back Knit Top with pinks of the same hues and love how the look has one uninterrupted line from head to toe giving you a sexier and taller appearance.  Embracing the trend, rock a barely pink skirt, heels and handbag for a well put together day look.

 Sequined Printed Dress

Sequins are a subtle way to add a little shimmer to an outfit for the extra glam.  The key to styling the barely pink Sequined Printed Dress is simplicity.  For a night out on the town, consider pairing the dainty number with black.  Playing with drastic contrasts after dark is a bold statement that helps your look stand out.  A simple black ankle strap heel and envelope clutch transform your from soft and innocent to daring and sultry.  Throw on a couple of thin gold bracelets and stud earrings -- you're all set

CALVIN

Wednesday, June 3, 2015

Men are from Venus and women are from Mars but style, that's universal! Women in menswear has been a mainstay in the world of fashion and we wanted to experiment with the idea a little. Pushing our style boundaries, we rocked crisp white Calvin Klein button downs copped from the men's section of Nordstroms for this simple chic studio shoot.  Inspired by timeless pieces, the classic white dress shirt is a closet staple, we just dipped in the men's wardrobe for this look.  Dare to rock menswear? XO
